During the school year of 1997-98, the GASPER Air Monitor travelled to various schools in the Pittsburgh area. The results of these visits will be an Air Congress, to be held May 7,1998 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at 500 Waterfront Drive, Washington’s Landing (former Herr’s Island) in the Waterfront Room. There is No charge and the event is open to the public
Schedule:
9:00-9:15 – registration, receive name tags
9:15-9:30 – Introductory Comments: Mr.Tony Sadar of SE Technologies Inc.
9:30-11:30 – Student (Quaker Valley Middle School, Dorseyville Middle School, Woodland Hills High School, and South Vocational Technical High School) and Community (June Connolly, Health Advocate from E. Liverpool, Ohio) group presentations and break (group presentations will each be 10 to 15 minutes in length)
11:30-12:00 – Lunch (provided) and visitation of displayed data/projects.
12:00-12:30 – Sustainability in Your Environment: Mr. Robert Kobet, Director of Green Building Services for Conservation Consultants Inc.
12:30-12:50 – Ground Level Ozone History and Present Situation: Mr. Joseph Pezze, Program Manager for Air Quality of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) SW Region.
12:50 – 2:00 – student group activities

- GASPER Air Congress is on Washington’s Landing (former Herr’s Island), in Pittsburgh
- from route 28, turn onto the 31st Street Bridge
- turn right, almost immediately, exiting the bridge and take the first left (occurs also almost immediately)
- turn left onto Waterfront Drive (you are now on the island)
- Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) & Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Building on left–second building
- 500 Waterfront Drive
- Waterfront Room
