Air Quality Podcast Intern Fall 2018 Semester


This unpaid internship is a great opportunity to gain experience in science communications, audio processing, and air quality topics. Working closely with their supervisor, the Podcast Intern will act as an assistant editor and creative director for GASP’s podcast, “On the Air with GASP.” The intern will collaborate with their supervisor to determine the direction of each episode and edit and mix all audio materials. The internship will involve 10-15 hours a week, which can be performed remotely and at GASP’s office. Internship for college credit may be arranged.


  • Collaborate with supervisor to create a vision and outline for each podcast episode
  • Fact-check and source all relevant materials
  • Research and prepare questions for interviews (to be performed by supervisor)
  • Edit, mix, and determine gaps in audio material to piece together a full episode
  • Write episode summaries and taglines for posting on the podcast webpage & social media
  • Expand podcast reach


  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and oral communications skills
  • Experience with podcast production and technologies (or eager to learn!)
  • Interest in local environmental issues
  • Willing to take and give direction
