“Smoke readers” is a general term for volunteers who are trained and certified to recognize and understand visible emissions from sources such as smokestacks, as well as what violations look like, and how to make reports.  

Now, there’s an opportunity for residents to receive this training through a program by Eastern Technical Associates.

The two-day training program (lecture + field work) is slated for Sept. 28 and 29.
